Meet Lilah’s Sexy Lexi: Our Sweet Little Surprise

On July 11, 2026, Hartland Oaks welcomed another set of tiny hooves to the farm when our mink miniature donkey, Lilah, became a first-time mama to a beautiful little girl.

And in true farm fashion, Lexi decided to make her entrance when we weren’t home!

We were away working an event when Lilah went into labor. Thankfully, our wonderful neighbors had front-row seats to the big arrival and kept an eye on everything for us. They sent us pictures so we could see that mama and baby were doing well, which gave us some peace of mind—but you can imagine how badly we wanted to pack up and get home!

The newest member of Hartland Oaks officially became Lilah’s Sexy Lexi—or simply Lexi around the farm.

From Shy Baby to Sweet as Pie

When we first met Lexi, she was understandably a little unsure of us. She preferred sticking close to her mama and wasn't quite convinced that these strange humans needed to be part of her world.

That didn't last long.

Lexi has blossomed into the sweetest little girl. Now she'll come right up looking for attention and affection, and it has been so much fun watching her personality develop.

She's also discovered that Hartland Oaks has its own version of an amusement park: the dirt pile.

Lexi absolutely loves playing King of the Hill, climbing to the top like she owns the place. When she isn't conquering mountains, she's usually running around the pasture, kicking up those little donkey legs and playing with her buddy Lil Jack Jack.

Watching the two of them race, buck, kick and play together is one of those simple farm moments that can make you stop whatever you're doing just to watch.

What's Next for Lexi?

Lexi isn't just adorable—she's also an exciting addition to our miniature donkey herd. When she's old enough, we plan to have Lilah's Sexy Lexi registered with the Miniature Donkey Registry (MDR).

For now, though, she has much more important business to handle: growing up, getting spoiled, playing with Jack Jack, ruling the dirt pile and making everyone who meets her fall completely in love.

Life at Hartland Oaks doesn't always go according to plan. Sometimes you're working an event while your first-time mama donkey decides that's the perfect time to have her baby.

But that's farm life.

And coming home to meet a healthy little Lexi for the first time?

Worth every second of the wait. ❤️
